A prodigy with a dizzying career. Born into a musical family, Pat Metheny began working with the best jazz musicians in Kansas City at the age of 15. At the age of 19, he became a professor at the renowned Berklee College of Musicand entered the international jazz scene a year later, quickly establishing himself as one of the world’s top guitarists. To date, Pat Metheny has won 20 Grammy Awards, making him the 15th most awarded artist in history. A collaborator of David Bowie, Herbie Hancock and Steve Reich, the guitarist was also a forerunner in the development of electronic music. Instantly recognisable, his playing blends supple and flexible articulations with a rhythmic and harmonic sensitivity of unequalled richness. In Montreux, Pat Metheny has performed with John Scofield, Jack DeJohnette, Herbie Hancock, Charlie Haden and Brad Mehldau. This summer, he celebrates his return 11 years after his last visit to Montreux.
