About Jon Batiste
In three years, Jon Batiste’s renown has grown exponentially. A dazzling showman already well known to jazz and soul fans, he is now one of the most important musicians on the planet. Between 2020 and 2022, the New Orleans artist won it all: an Oscar for the soundtrack to the Pixar film Soul and five Grammy Awards for the album We Are, including the most prestigious award for Best Album of the Year. An impressive synthesis of jazz, R&B, pop and soul, this record now reaches a wide audience. Born into a large musical family, Jonathan is the fourth Batiste to have performed at the Festival. After his 2013 concert at the MJF and his appearances at Quincy Jones’ parties at the Stravinski, he is giving us a huge gift: his concert in Montreux will be his only date this summer.
