Zapapaya
Zapapaya is a Franco-Colombian producer and DJ shaking up the electronic scene by blending traditional Afro-Caribbean rhythms with a modern, organic, and solar sound. Driven by a unique sonic identity, he embodies a revival of the Afro Latin House scene.
After more than ten years of composing for other artists and accumulating millions of streams, Zapapaya launched his personal project in 2023 with an initial creative phase deeply rooted in the Afro-Colombian folklore of Cartagena and Palenque. He collaborated with iconic figures such as La Burgo (Las Alegres Ambulancias), DJ Corpas (Systema Solar), Son Palenque, Sexteto Tabalá, as well as the legendary label Palenque Records. This cultural immersion, at the crossroads of heritage and modernity, stands as a powerful manifesto paying tribute to his Afro-Colombian roots. It lays the foundations of his artistic identity and sets the stage for his upcoming international releases.
