Brass notes held to infinity, crowdsurfing, devastating dance moves, exchanging instruments with his musicians… Troy Andrews, AKA Trombone Shorty, has made a habit of Montreux with his breathtaking shows. Five years after his last appearance, the New Orleans prodigy returns to the Festival to present his album, Lifted, released by Blue Note in 2022. A danceable cocktail full of panache, it once again blends funk, soul, jazz, hip-hop and rock. In 2021, Troy Andrews took part in Jon Batiste’s album, We Are, whichwon Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards. The two musicians, frequent collaborators, will be reuniting to celebrate the opening of the Lake Stage. It promises to be a flamboyant evening, with a New Orleans flavour.
