Pulp
A cult phenomenon of British pop culture, Pulp will perform for the first time at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Considered one of the “Big Four” of the Britpop movement, the band has always steered clear of categorization, transcending its glam and new wave influences in a sophisticated body of work, transforming the mundane into flamboyance, kitsch into the sublime, and everyday life into an epic. Jarvis Cocker’s band celebrates the thirty-year anniversary of Different Class (Common People, Disco 2000, etc.), a legendary album ranked among the 10 best of all time by NME. This masterpiece with Bowie-esque overtones marked an entire generation with its eccentric charm, its melodic genius and its biting lyrics on sex, drugs and class differences. Twenty-five years after their last visit to Switzerland, the Sheffield band is set to electrify the Scène du Lac.
