If the writer Émile Zola and the singer Otis Redding were to lend their names to a project, it would create a unique fusion of poetry, soul, and earthy blues. Following the debut album Leavin‘ Birds (2022), Otis Zola’s new EP Soulbird was released in September 2024, featuring five tracks. Musically rooted in the soul of the 60s and 70s, Soulbird reaches forward into the present. 
With the same lineup as the debut, the soulbird returns to tell stories of anger, powerlessness, and sorrow – but also of hope, love, and the feeling of coming home. As a solo artist and with a band, Otis Zola combines a balanced mix of soul, pop, and blues, bringing the best of both worlds to the stage. For 2025, two studio live-session video releases are planned, and work on another album is already in full swing.
