GANAVYA, born in New York and raised in Tamil Nadu, is a unique voice in spiritual and experimental music. Her 2024 album Daughter of a Temple, released via Nils Frahm’s label LEITER, is a stunning collective work recorded at Houston’s Opera House with artists like esperanza spalding, Vijay Iyer, and Shabaka Hutchings. Blending spiritual jazz and South Indian devotional traditions, it pays homage to Alice Coltrane and reimagines ritual as sonic healing. With degrees from Berklee, UCLA, and Harvard, GANAVYA brings together prayer, poetry, and collaboration in a deeply personal project that transforms solitude into communion and love into sound.
