Lord Funk
Involved with BMG and Africa Seven, Lord Funk began his DJ career in the late 1980s. Known for eclectic sets blending Breaks, House, Boogie, Electro, Disco Rap, Soul, Funk, Afro and Latin Grooves, he made his mark early by founding USA Music in Paris and hosting shows on Transat FM and Rinse. A key figure in the Paris scene with his “Wax Groove” residency, he later moved to New York, where he co-founded Wagram Records and helped shape Desco Records, birthing projects like the Dap-Kings and Antibalas. As manager of A1 Records, he supplied vinyl to legends like Q-Tip, Fatboy Slim, Massive Attack, and Madlib. Now at the helm of Boogie Butt Records, he produces for names like Blowfly, The Real Fake MC, and Opolopo.
