Cyril began playing at clubs and raves in Paris in the late 80s and early 90s, including Laurent Garnier’s legendary residencies at Paris Wake Up in Rex Club. As a respected and versatile DJ, producer, label owner, and party curator, DJ Deep has consistently proven himself to be a true force in electronic music. Whether hosting events at Parisian institution Rex Club—such as his Re-Set 30 Years of Legends party, relaunched in January 2025—or performing at Berghain/Panorama Bar, Fabric, Tresor, and countless other venues, DJ Deep is equally at home commanding the decks at world-renowned clubs as he is crafting his “Open Library” radio shows for R/O/V/R as he previously was for Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM. As a producer, his critically acclaimed releases on Rekids, Kaoz Theory, and Tresor, alongside his own Deeply Rooted imprint, have consistently demonstrated his imaginative approach to house and techno. The ambitious artist’s creative output extends far beyond these releases, as he crafts music under various aliases that venture into more experimental territories of electronic music. These include solo projects as Rébeval and Deep Moments, as well as collaborative works with Roman Poncet (aka Traumer) under the monikers Sergie Rezza, Adventice, Fang, and Deep Traum. April 2025 marked the inaugural release from Get-Rooted, a joint venture label between Traumer’s Get-Traum and DJ Deep’s Deeply Rooted imprints.
