Brian Jackson
Brian Jackson is the songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who provided the DNA for the Conscious Soul revolution. As the creative engine behind nine landmark albums with Gil Scott-Heron, his visionary Fender Rhodes and synth-bass arrangements defined an era. His work has since become global currency—sampled by the likes of Tupac, Kanye West, and Kendrick Lamar, and covered by artists from Jamiroquai to The Roots.
A “musician’s musician,” Brian has worked with icons ranging from Marcus Miller and Roy Ayers to Michael Jackson. His production prowess defined 80s hits for Will Downing and Gwen Guthrie, while his recent work includes collaborations with Bootsy Collins and Brazilian legend Milton Nascimento.
A veteran performer, Brian has anchored live sets for legends like Phyllis Hyman and headlined major festivals from We Out Here to Billboard Live (Tokyo/Osaka). Following his acclaimed 2022 album This Is Brian Jackson, he continues to bridge musical history and the future with Now More than Ever—a definitive reimagining of his songbook in collaboration with Masters at Work (Louie Vega and Kenny Dope).
