Piche
At 29, Piche has established himself as one of the most unique figures in the French music scene. Behind this now-iconic name, Mike—his given name—claims a hybrid identity that defies labels: “A singer who does drag, rather than a drag queen who sings.” It is a nuance that summarizes both his artistic ambition and his fluid relationship with gender. He composes his music with his brother, drawing on their shared heritage and personal differences to create a sound that is as inclusive as it is incisive.
Originally from the south of France and of Algerian and Romani descent, Piche has built a career at the intersection of various disciplines. A dancer, choreographer, performer, singer, and rapper, he treats every medium as a piece of the same puzzle, seeking to give his art a total, immersive dimension. His instinctive and direct approach leads him to challenge conventions, both on stage and in the public sphere. He became the first drag queen to enter the Top Album charts with his EP Festin, to perform at the Printemps de Bourges, and to represent French drag during the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Brought to the public eye through his participation in Drag Race France, Piche stands out for his flair for performance and the power of his artistic universe. In 2023, his debut track “Confess” sparked a true phenomenon: the song hit over a million streams in record time and climbed several platform charts. As a finalist in the first All-Stars season in 2025, he cemented his status as a complete artist by fusing camp, pop culture, rap, and social activism.
2025 was a pivotal year for Piche. From the documentary L’Absent, dans le cœur de Piche, aired on France Télévisions, which retraces his creative process and family journey, to a sold-out show at La Cigale, he confirmed his status as a superstar. His track “Carré” has accumulated over 2 million streams and 600,000 views in 4 months—a record for a French drag artist. What’s next? An Olympia date in November 2026 and, most importantly, his very first album set to be released this year!
Whether in drag or out of it, Piche plays with the codes of masculinity and femininity to reveal their absurdity—often with humor, always with boldness. By rejecting all barriers, Piche embodies a generation that views inclusivity as a horizon and self-expression as a political act.
