Saoirse
Saoirse has carved out a career that spans sonic universes and subcultures. The DJ, producer, head of the label trUst, and founder of the Body Movements festival is now deploying her creative talents even further.
Saoirse’s sets are meticulously documented, yet remain free from any rules. Her record bag, of abyssal depth, oscillates between slow, dark tracks for “dark rooms” and sounds ranging from bubbling bass and garage to jungle or euphoric house. A resident of the Barcelona-based queer party Maricas, she continues to run her own trUst events, which have hosted artists such as Spekki Webbu, Nicolas Lutz, and Eris Drew. She curated a night at Fabric club with Shanti Celeste, and her queer electronic music festival, Body Movements—now in its third year—consistently sells out. Her compilation for the “fabric presents” series marks a crucial milestone: “I want it to be timeless, so I leaned into the textures I know within the walls of that club. That’s where music truly influenced my life, where I learned how to be a good raver, and where I understood what the longevity of a dancefloor is all about.”
After a two-decade career, Saoirse’s dancefloors continue to expand.
