You and the Pop
Launched in 2013 by guitarist and saxophonist Romain Fitoussi, the YATP team blends jazz and improvised music with a pop cover repertoire, enriched by a clubbing spirit. Based in Paris, the group has developed a unique playing style over the years, with Cong Minh Pham on keyboards and occasionally Dany Lavital. Xavier Roumagnac on drums takes over from Gaet Allard, who emigrated to London.
From 2014 to 2017, YATP hosted brunches at Le Plein Soleil in Paris, before extending its performances to Café Charbon. Romain integrated continuous 45-minute sets, an approach appreciated for its originality.
Since 2018, the band has performed internationally, notably in Switzerland and Luxembourg, and has been a regular guest at LP’s Bar in Lausanne and Funky Claude’s Bar in Montreux, where they have innovated with non-stop 1.5-hour sets.
Over the years, sometimes far from the spotlight and the sometimes industrial logic of the music world, YATP has developed lasting partnerships with places, companies and people that have enabled the band to perform to the maximum, in a spirit close to a time when recorded music was not omnipresent, cultivating a balance between function (craftsmanship) and creativity (art).
