Vincz Lee & Jiggy Jones present Memory Lane
Jiggy Jones & Vincz Lee are 2 key players on the Swiss hip-hop scene. Together, they’ve been part of the Downtown Boogie team for over 20 years.
Jiggy Jones took his first steps in Hip-Hop via dance & tag in the 80s. A member of one of Lausanne’s pioneering rap groups, XBS, he was one of the first organizers of HH parties in 1993. At the end of the 90s, he became a radio host on Couleur 3. First on the Downtown Boogie rap show, then on Soulcheck & des Métissages. Today, he can still be found at the microphone of 3 every day.
Vincz Lee began his DJ career in 1997 & quickly established himself as a major dj on hip-hop nights in Switzerland & abroad. In 2001, the Genevan joined Couleur 3 & the Downtown Boogie show. In 2009, he released an album entitled “The Invincible”, on which he invited IAM, Disiz, Oxmo Puccino & Stress, among others. He subsequently released several singles and video clips. Winner of a Swiss Nightlife Award in the Best Blackmusic DJ category, he is now as active in the clubs as he is at the turntables of the NAYUNO show on channel 3.
The Memory Lane evenings were born of a need for Jiggy Jones & Vincz Lee to return to their roots.
From the Soul of the 70s to the Funk of the 80s, via the Rap and R&B of the 90s and 2000s, these evenings are an opportunity to delve into a musically rich but all too often forgotten past. It’s a duty to remember, and a tribute to the culture that has kept Jones & Vincz buzzing for so long.
