In a friendly, often poignant voice, he extols love and friendship (“Take Care”), celebrates watermelons (“Watermelon”) or Italian pasta (“P.A.S.T.A.”), or mocks the Trump administration (“Melania”) or the footballer Luis Suarez (“Hey Luis Don’t Bite Me”). And it’s a hit! A complete artist who is deaf to the sirens of business, the author of “Go Solo” only very rarely agrees to perform live. So, it goes without saying that his coming to Montreux constitutes a major event.
