Sebb Bash is a Swiss producer, DJ, and beatmaker born in in Lausanne. He developed a passion for music in the 1980s, influenced by the emerging hip-hop culture. In the 1990s, he gained recognition in Switzerland as a DJ, notably through the creation of “Métissages”, the first radio show dedicated to rap music on Couleur 3. An expert in digging – the art of finding rare vinyl records – and a master of sampling, Sebb Bash crafted a distinctive style that caught the attention of renowned artists. He collaborated with major American rap figures such as Mobb Deep, Jadakiss, Big Noyd, Kool G Rap, Soopafly and Tony Yayo. In 1999, he moved to New York, where he met The Alchemist, the acclaimed producer and DJ for Eminem. Their meeting marked the beginning of a long-lasting friendship and deep artistic collaboration. In 2018, Sebb Bash released “Imports”, an instrumental album on ALC Records, the label founded by The Alchemist. In recognition of his career and his impact on both Swiss and international music scenes, Sebb Bash was awarded the Swiss Music Prize in 2019 by the Federal Office of Culture. Today, Sebb Bash continues to produce music, driven by a free and authentic artistic vision. He remains a key figure in beatmaking, true to his roots and his love for sound. He also continues to DJ, mixing 45 RPM vinyl records, staying faithful to the analog culture that shaped his artistic identity.
