Qing Madi is one of the latest revelations on the highly productive Nigerian scene. Born in Benin City, she sang in her church choir from an early age and took part in her school’s talent shows. In 2023, at the age of 17, she released her first EP, with hit tracks such as “Ole” and “American Love”, which were a big success on TikTok. The singer, songwriter and dancer moves between Afrobeats, pop, soul and R&B, inspired by artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Wizkid and Burna Boy. In Montreux, Qing Madi will be opening for Tems at an evening celebrating women talent from Nigeria.
