monte mai is a swiss-caribbean psychedelic avant-pop trio made up of fabio besomi, fabio pinto and anaïs schmidt. their music fuses swiss precision and tropical energy: expansive melodies, ethereal vocals and electronic rhythms meet with intensity and sensitivity. their compositions oscillate between minimalism and saturation, driven by a retro aesthetic and a constant desire to explore. their debut album ‘eye sea double’, released to critical acclaim in early 2023, brought them close to the likes of metronomy, lcd soundsystem and the knife. they have played at major festivals such as fusion, reeperbahn, mi ami, balélec and m4music, and shared the stage with ibeyi, m83, cigarettes after sex, nu genea and phoenix. their new album, produced by domi chansorn, will be released in march 2025 on the swiss label il domani, followed by a tour of switzerland, germany, italy, the netherlands, belgium, the czech republic and france.
