Matteo Baima is a young Swiss & Italian DJ who’s been making waves since 2021. A lifelong music enthusiast, Matteo has explored various genres, including reggae and hip-hop. It was in 2019, during a semester at an American university, that he really dove into electronic music. The experience was transformative, and upon returning to Switzerland, Matteo bought his first DJ setup, eager to catch up on lost time.
In 2022, Matteo joined Fantastic Friends Recordings, a globally renowned minimal music label based in Lausanne. This experience allowed him to gain true musical maturity and fully integrate into the local scene. Since 2025, strengthened by this formative chapter, he has been flying solo.
By 2023, Matteo was performing at some of the top clubs in Switzerland and abroad, building his reputation by sharing the stage with artists who inspire him, such as Fleur Shore, Mihai Popoviciu, Silat Beksi, Christian Burkhardt, Janeret, Nick Curly, and Primalie.
Matteo’s musical style oscillates between house and minimal. His sound is continually evolving and becoming more refined. Through his distinctive sets, Matteo channels his personal journey and experiences, translating them into music. He has a particular fondness for thick, rhythmic basslines combined with deep or club melodies, adding a touch of brightness to solid underground beats.
