Masego

Fusing the sounds of jazz, the percussive beats of trap and the danceable rhythms of house, Masego defies convention. The self-taught multi-instrumentalist has boldly created a tailor-made genre to categorise his eclectic style: TrapHouse Jazz. His smooth vocals and virtuosity on the saxophone captivate the ear and charm the heart. The Jamaican-American musician draws influence from his family heritage, notably his mother, the director of a Christian choir. Since its release in 2018, his signature song, “Tadow” (the result of a collaboration with FKJ) has been resonating in the minds of his listeners. Returning to the Montreux Jazz Festival for the second time, Masego will present his recent self-titled album, setting the Casino stage alight with his boundless energy and natural grooves.
