KUMA draws its essence from two musical pots: the Cully Jazz Festival residency and the Blakat Jam Sessions at Le Chat Noir in Carouge. Born in 2012, the group has developed a virtuoso and accessible jazz-funk, oscillating between festive experimentation and soul/funk covers with brass section. Led by Matthieu Llodra (keyboards) and Arthur Donnot (sax), their music blurs the boundaries between acoustic and electronic, between jazz writing and sample culture. With Maxence Sibille (drums) and Fabien Iannone (bass), they reinvent a modern smooth-jazz fed by hip-hop, house and techno.
