Kiddy Smile

Kiddy Smile grew up in a housing estate in Rambouillet in the Yvelines, where he spent a turbulent adolescence but developed a taste for dance at an early age, which enabled him to take part in a number of music videos, notably George Michael’s An Easier Affair, and to leave Rambouillet for Paris. He took dance lessons and discovered Sylvester and Grace Jones, who according to Kiddy Smile, shaped his personality.
Before working in music, Kiddy Smile was a fashion designer, a passion passed on by his mother, and then worked in the event industry. Among his influences, he cites black American music such as gospel and hip-hop, the Chicago and Detroit music of the 1990s, the voguing movement and the New York house music ballrooms.
