A PlayStation microphone, a guitar, his bedroom in Barcelona — that was all Álvaro Lafuente Calvo needed to emerge as one of Spain’s most distinctive voices. What began as Instagram covers has unfolded into a body of work that feels both timeless and strikingly contemporary, weaving together indie folk, rumba and flamenco. Following a collaboration with Troye Sivan and a nomination at the 2023 Latin Grammys, the Benicàssim-born artist returns with Spanish Leather (2025), a compelling second album exploring themes of desire, nostalgia and freedom.
