Gilberto Gil & Family

AQUELE ABRAÇO TOUR

Gilberto Gil is quite simply one of the greatest cultural figures of our era. During 60+ years in music and politics, he has driven a cultural revolution in Brazil, was the founding father of the tropicália movement, the minister of culture, a UN ambassador and a UNESCO Artist for Peace. But above all, the Salvador de Bahia native has a discography under his belt as brilliant as it is abundant (over 60 albums!). His first visit to Montreux was in 1978, an event that marked the beginning of a long love affair between Brazilian artists and the Festival. In 2022, he celebrated his 80th birthday on a tour captured by Amazon Prime cameras as part of a hit series about his family. His children and relatives will be with him on stage for his 15th concert in Montreux.
