GENERATION SEX Billy Idol, Steve Jones, Tony James & Paul Cook

If you merge the Sex Pistols and Generation X, you get the dream line-up of every seventies punk fan. On the Gen X side, we have the legendary peroxide-blonde singer Billy Idol and bassist Tony James, both founders of the group in 1976. A product of the London punk scene, Billy Idol went on to conquer the United States during his solo career, playing a major role in the early success of MTV. For the Pistols, drummer Paul Cookand guitarist Steve Jones both played on the legendary album Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols. As well as creating some of punk rock’s most iconic riffs, Steve Jones also collaborated with a certain Iggy Pop, notably on the album Blah-Blah-Blah recorded at the Mountain Studio in Montreux.
