At the age of five, she sang for National Radio and Television, as well as at various Children’s Festivals.
In 1992, following the fall of the Communist regime, she came to Switzerland and settled with her mother in Geneva, where she studied classical piano and discovered jazz.
After various music, film and theater projects, she studied singing, composition and pedagogy at the Bern University of the Arts, jazz section.
In 2005, she formed the Elina Duni Quartet with Colin Vallon on piano, Bänz Oester and Patrice Moret on bass and Norbert Pfammatter on drums, a return to her musical roots that blends Balkan folk songs with jazz.
