An American pianist with prodigious groove, Christian Sands is now one of the leading voices in contemporary jazz. Grammy-nominated for his 2020 album Be Water, Sands continues to push musical boundaries with his latest release Embracing Dawn, weaving agile post-bop, bluesy touches, and cinematic orchestrations inspired by his love of film. Over the course of his young career, the 35-year-old pianist has collaborated with artists like Gregory Porter, Esperanza Spalding, Dianne Reeves, and Grégoire Maret. This will be his third appearance in Montreux, following his 2021 solo concert and his performance with Christian McBride’s Trio in 2015.
