Cinémathèque suisse

Cinémathèque suisse

Founded in 1948, the Cinémathèque suisse is recognized as the sixth most important film archive in the world in terms of the scope, diversity, and quality of its collections. Alongside the 100,000 preserved films, the Cinémathèque suisse’s holdings include more than 10 million objects, posters, photographs, scripts, equipment, and other cinematographic items gathered at the Research and Archiving Centre in Penthaz (VD). In order to highlight this extraordinary cultural heritage, the Cinémathèque suisse offers retrospectives, tributes, and thematic cycles at the Cinéma Capitole in Lausanne, featuring numerous events and screenings in the presence of film personalities.
