Royale Cattin
Royale Cattin is a drag queen, performer, and mistress of ceremonies based in French-speaking Switzerland, known for turning every appearance into a national event—unrecognized by the authorities, but validated by the public.
Blending Italian glamour, absurd humor, and a sharp sense of celebration, Royale has spent several years navigating between alternative stages, theaters, festivals, and clubs. She imposes a world where cabaret meets pop culture, organized chaos, and deep collective emotions. Having performed at venues and events such as the Geneva Arena for Santa’s concert, the Montreux Jazz Festival, the famous “Rioule” on August 1st at the Théâtre de l’Orangerie, and various Swiss and European drag scenes, she develops hybrid forms mixing performance art, theater, drag bingo, music, and happenings.
For this new edition of “ROYALE CATTIN AND FRIENDS,” Royale returns once again as the official mistress of ceremonies for this grand anniversary party, imagined to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Montreux Jazz Festival. Between legendary archives, flamboyant guests, humor, emotions, and completely unpredictable moments, she will guide the audience through a night designed as a living and euphoric tribute to the Festival’s history.
And naturally… it all starts with her now-legendary Drag Bingo. Because in Montreux, we take Swiss cultural heritage seriously—but never without rhinestones.
