In 2020, the Zurich-based duo of Lukas Mayer and Ryder Ulmer began collaborating, combining their talents as producers and performers at events across Switzerland. Their rapid success led to the creation of “Read the News,” a brand distinguished by a profound message. The name embodies a deliberate ambiguity, encouraging listeners to open themselves to new music and explore genres beyond their usual habits. From 2021 onwards, their productions gained recognition from several credible artists in the industry and were played worldwide. This momentum propelled them across the globe, performing at events in various countries. Developing their vision, Lukas and Ryder founded their own label, “Read the News Records,” while continuing to release music on various other labels. They are an integral part of “Habitat,” Mind Against’s label, having featured on both of their compilations, with their own EP set to be released soon. They have performed at venues and events such as: X Future, Fomo Baku, Hive DBX, VSNZ, Beats and Brunch, Nordstern Basel, Fabric London, Kaufleuten Zurich, Terrazzza Horse Park Festival, Blue Marlin Ibiza, Naturklang, Sauvage, Sala Riviera Madrid, Ryu Nine Hamburg, and the Berlin Dance Event.
