The Isley Brothers
Swiss exclusivity
A first for Montreux: active since the 1950s, the Isley Brothers had never performed at the Festival until now. Few bands have spanned so many eras with such consistency, scoring hits across eight consecutive decades—from the fifties to today. The Cincinnati siblings have continuously reinvented their musical identity, moving effortlessly from rock to soul, funk to disco. In the 1960s, they helped launch the career of Jimi Hendrix, who played in their backing band, and inspired the Beatles with songs like “Twist and Shout.” Their legacy still resonates today, widely sampled by hip-hop icons from 2Pac to Kendrick Lamar. Today, brothers Ron Isley (singer and founding member) and Ernie Isley (guitarist, joined the group in 1973) continue to keep the legend alive on stage.
