Alfredo Rodriguez

Born in Havana in 1985, Alfredo Rodriguez is a Cuban jazz pianist and composer renowned for his virtuoso style blending contemporary jazz, Afro-Cuban rhythms and classical influences. Trained at the Manuel Saumell Conservatory, then at the Amadeo Roldán and the Institut Supérieur d’Art in Havana, he came to prominence in 2006 at the Montreux Jazz Festival, where Quincy Jones became his mentor. Based in the United States since 2009, he has released several acclaimed albums on Mack Avenue Records, including Sounds of Space, Tocororo and Coral Way. Nominated for a Grammy Award, he has performed on the world’s greatest stages, captivating audiences with his expressive playing and inspired improvisations.
