Martin Rohrmeier

The affinity between music and mathematics has a long-standing history, in which both disciplines have mutually inspired each other. In this workshop, we will look into the world of musical geometries, and see how ideas that trace back to Leonard Euler are reflected in music up until today, and how famous jazz standards and jazz musicians employ different strategies to play with the geometry of the tonal pitch space.
