Dan and The Dynamite X Visuels Ia: Une hybridation Humain-Machine en temps réel

Dan and the Dynamite is a Swiss nu jazz band combining melodic music and jazz improvisations. For the live show, the band is offering an “immersive concert” with interactive visual mapping that reacts to each instrument in real time using a generative AI protocol. This is an innovative project, combining technology with a live band, while seeking to achieve visual and sonic aesthetics. The visuals come to life according to the notes played by the musicians, inviting the spectator to enjoy an immersive experience.
This project was tested in October 2024 at the Montreux Jazz Festival Residency (MJFR). For this workshop, the group will be presenting a live performance in a reduced formation (Yaniv Benhamou tenor sax & voice, Alexandre Rodriguez keyboards, visuals and AI protocol prepared by Johan Pardo media designer) with the aim of highlighting this human-machine interaction. In workshop format, this live show is also intended to be educational, and will be punctuated by critical explanations (talks) on the use of generative AI, including the role of the machine and human creativity, as well as questions of copyright and remuneration models in the age of AI.
