This is the free programming of the Montreux Jazz Festival:

- The Music in the Park environment has been completely redesigned

- Each Saturday will now feature a Pool Party just down the way by the pool at the Casino, a legendary party site from the first years of the Festival—many die-hards practically lived there!

MUSIC IN THE PARK
In line with the improvements made to the Festival’s lakeside promenades in 2013, the environment of Parc Vernex has been audaciously overhauled. Its circular shape will welcome one and all in this relaxed outdoor space for non-stop concerts from 2pm.

THE ROCK CAVE
It’s a screaming underground club for those plugged in to rock and roll—but that’s not all. Because in this venue, two electrifying shows per evening are prolonged by aftershows in delicious flavors of rock, soul, and funk in an enlarged space to accommodate up to 400 guests.

The highly popular Montreux Jazz Competitions are a top-flight launchpad for talented young artists from all over the world, and which reveal the jazz headliners of tomorrow! Members of the Jury: John McLaughlin, Angélique Kidjo, Yaron Herman
The pool at the Casino was a space steeped in the Montreux ambiance starting in 1967. So for this 50th edition we will be getting our groove on from 12 noon to 8pm every Saturday. Non-stop DJ sets and sun-drenched eatables—ideal for making a splash on the dance floor!

SPECIAL PROJECT & HAPPENINGS
MONTREUX JAZZ CHOIR
You love to sing at the top of your lungs, but not just in the shower? The Montreux Jazz Choir is for you! The concept: bring together the Festival’s amateur vocalists to create an ephemeral choir for a single hit. Conducted by Patrick Marmy, Vevey music professor and choir master.

Once upon a time, Keith Haring used to scribble on the walls all over the Festival…For this jubilee, and as an echo of this edition’s visual offerings, Giovanni Riva, designer of the 2016 poster, and artist Greg Guillemin will offer a workshop where participants will together create a 2.5 by 5 meter canvas, which will later be hung at the 2M2C.

The Patrouille Suisse is doing the Montreux Jazz Festival the immense honor of presenting its high-impact aerial show to provide a beautiful closing act for the 50th edition.
FILM SCREENINGS AND AVANT-PREMIÈRES
A number of screenings will be held at the Hollywood cinema in Montreux: More Than Jazz, the official documentary on the Montreux Jazz Festival produced by Guillaume Delaperrière and La Blogothèque in coproduction with ARTE and RTS, will be screened on July 3rd (prior to its premiere broadcast), with the film’s creators present. Then, on July 10th, I Go Back Home – Jimmy Scott, a musical documentary by Yoon-Ha Chang, will be screened, with Quincy Jones in attendance.
