A versatile beatmaker, velvet-voiced singer, and guitarist weaned on jazz: Tom Misch is the new British face of retro, elegant groove. From his first sounds published on Soundcloud in 2012, Tom Misch has been part of crafting the musical identity of South London: a sunny, laid-back vibe. Geography, his debut album, brilliantly explores the common denominators between hip-hop, funk, pop, and soul, equally inspired by the beats of J Dilla, the jazz of Robert Glasper, and the melodious phrasings of John Mayer. This multi-instrumentalist even dared a cover of the Stevie Wonder classic “Isn’t She Lovely”. In Montreux, he will play the same evening as two of his frequent collaborators: his South London ‘neighbor’ Loyle Carner, and France’s FKJ. Expect a special kind of magic on the stage of the Lab that night!
