A Tribute to the Music of Quincy Jones

There could be no other way to open this summer’s Festival: the legacy of the legendary Quincy Jones, who passed away last November, will be celebrated in a unique show led by Chaka Khan and featuring several special guests. A long-time friend of the Festival, the Chicago diva promises an electrifying evening that will revive the spirit of Quincy Jones’s legendary concerts at Montreux.

The concert brings together two iconic voices who have left an indelible mark on Quincy Jones’s discography. Chaka Khan collaborated with him on the album Masterjam and on some of his biggest hits, including “Stuff Like That” and “I’ll Be Good to You.” Siedah Garrett, meanwhile, sang on Quincy Jones’s album Back on the Block. She also performed the duet “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” with Michael Jackson and co-wrote his hit “Man in the Mirror” — both produced by Quincy Jones.

For this extraordinary evening, Chaka Khan will also be joined on stage by a host of guest artists, including American singer Rahsaan Patterson, British soul powerhouse Mica Paris, and Swiss artists Seven and Marc Sway, who took part in Quincy Jones’s grand shows at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
