The New Power Generation and Oxmo Puccino in Montreux!
The New Power Generation, Prince’s musicians for over twenty years, will perform in advance of Ms. Lauryn Hill on July 6th at the Auditorium Stravinski. As for rapper Oxmo Puccino, he joins the list of artists invited by -M- on July 15th.
The New Power Generation – Celebrating Prince
The New Power Generation has gone back on tour for a few select dates after their performance in honor of Prince at Paisley Park. The NPG backed up Prince from 1990 to 2013, notably playing on the Love Symbol Album and Diamonds and Pearls. The lineup will feature special guest vocalists and most of the original members of the band, including Morris Hayes, keyboardist and the group’s musical director.
Over the years, The NPG welcomed a rich cast of different artists, selected by Prince to accompany his evolving sound. The shows he custom-tailored for Montreux were a testament to the incredible diversity of these musicians. Morris Hayes on the keys in 2007, and the NPG horns in 2013, were unforgettable. Without a doubt, the “Celebrating Prince” concert will remind the Stravinski public of some magical moments!
