From 29 June to 14 July 2018, the 52nd Montreux Jazz Festival invites the public to chart a personal voyage through the offerings of a particularly rich lineup. Steeped in the history of rock, the program also features jazz heavyweights, delicate folk, and new R&B, hip-hop, and electronic sensations.
This morning the Montreux Jazz Festival presented the program for its 52nd edition in the Petit Palais in Montreux, the sumptuous building that will welcome the House of Jazz. A twelve-minute film showcasing the Festival’s venues and programmers provides a plunge into the musical programming and the new features for this edition.
Welcome to the House of Jazz!
The Petit Palais is transforming into the House of Jazz! A new headline Festival space, this sumptuous building, the little brother of the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace, will spend sixteen days as a two-level venue with a fizzing groove.
Downstairs, the new and improved Montreux Jazz Club. Formerly located in the Convention Center, this venue dedicated to jazz, blues, and soul goes from 300 to 600 seats while preserving the intimacy and the cozy ambiance that have driven its success.
Upstairs, the free stage La Coupole sets a frenetic pace, with an array of concerts, workshops, and jam sessions from 2pm to 4am! Unpredictable by nature, in this space jazz reveals a different audacious and surprising aspect each day. Steps away, the terrace of the House of Jazz invites the public and the artists to enjoy one of the most beautiful views over Lake Geneva.
New location for the Strobe Klub
The Strobe Klub arrives in the heart of the Festival! From now on, it’s the 2m2c that will bring together the planet’s very best electronic music. Same capacity, same goal: the Strobe Klub remains the Festival’s temple of electronic nights!
The free programme will be announced on May 31st 2018.
