A story of coincidences. Of high tides, of traditions. Of North and South, of Baltic and Adriatic. Mare Nostrum is a threefold poem, a collaboration between French accordionist Richard Galliano, Swedish pianist Jan Lundgren, and Italian trumpet player Paolo Fresu. A winding path connected to the peaceful Mediterranean, cradle of an evocative music, where the most surprising genres meet and entwine. You hear, in the distance, echoes of Charles Trenet, fragments of traditional songs, and melodies by Ravel and Satie. A sweet melancholy caresses the compositions of this trio of explorers who recount that moment of grace preceding the storm.
