Virtuoso of silence and hidden notes, Douglas Dare’s piano showcases majestic, shadowy vocals. His music evokes the mist-shrouded beaches of southwestern England. This son of a British piano teacher has been steeped in music from a very young age. Carried by his smooth voice, his latest album Aforger is at times embellished by choirs and brasses, bringing an even more intense dimension to his poetry. Compared to James Blake and Thom Yorke, this young artist served as the opening act for the US tour of his German friend Nils Frahm. His minimalist melodies will be the perfect foil for those of Peter Broderick, who like him is on the London label Erased Tapes.
