There were no signs of life from The Bloody Beetroots since they announced a break in spring 2015. At least not as a duo – DJ and multi-instrumentalist Bob Rifo who founded the group continued his solo career under the name SBCR, or Saint Bass City Rockers, a name that says a lot about the Italian’s hidden identity. Since the group was formed in 2007, Rifo and his colleague Tommy Tea have presented themselves as the punks of electro, distorting sounds, getting the bass rumbling and pushing the limits of dubstep. The two DJs got their reputation as rockers early on, accompanied by other musicians on stage. That’s how The Bloody Beetroots will be making their comeback this year to celebrate their tenth anniversary… and their first performance in Montreux.
